If you plan to have any outdoor planters that are not firmly sitting on the ground, then there is some type of support or brackets required to position them and keep them safely in place. This is one area you cannot skimp on as safety is an important concern. Planters can get surprisingly heavy when water is addded after planting, so be sure to test your planter supports after fully planiting and thoroughly watering.
Be sure to select the correct size for windowbox and deck railing planters, or use the universal planter brackets which allow you to adjust the sizing within a given range.
